Our Clinic Philosophy

The brief: we will treat you like family, are good listeners, work hard, prioritize communication, and are experts in our field!

Welcome to Sage Spine Pain and Nerve Center! My name is Dr. Andrew Clary, DO, and I started this practice with the goal of bringing transparency, great communication, and compassion with all the modern tools to help relieve spine and nerve pain for people of all walks of life. I am a double board-certified physician and a Top Doctor Award winner, with over nine years of hands-on experience in interventional pain medicine. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of performing more than 25,000 procedures and overseeing 70,000+ patient visits. I trained with a headache and migraine fellowship focus and developed advanced expertise in neuromodulation, allowing me to offer both tried-and-true solutions and cutting-edge therapies. My years at Summit Orthopedics and Welia Health in Mora and Pine City gave me a deep appreciation for serving rural communities, and now I am excited to extend that same level of advanced care to North Branch and the surrounding region.

Pain is one of the most common yet overlooked health challenges in the United States, with more than 65 million people suffering from back and neck pain each year and nearly 20% of adults living with chronic pain on a daily basis. Unfortunately, many communities—especially those in rural Minnesota—have been under-served when it comes to specialized pain management. That is exactly why I opened Sage Spine, Pain and Nerve Center inside Tanger Outlets in North Branch. Our clinic is built around a state-of-the-art procedure suite designed to deliver world-class treatments close to home. We offer advanced therapies such as Spinal Cord Stimulation, Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injections, Regenerative Medicine, Kyphoplasty, Radiofrequency Ablation, and Botox® for Migraines, as well as a full range of targeted injections and minimally invasive procedures. These treatments are backed not only by my clinical experience but by my history of working with over 30 respected law firms and providing hundreds of expert medical narratives and depositions—a background that reflects both precision and accountability in everything I do.

My team and I treat a broad spectrum of conditions including back pain, arthritis, sciatica, pinched nerves, migraines, neck pain, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, and neuropathies. Each patient receives a personalized plan that may include injections, rehabilitation, regenerative care, or even advanced neuromodulation for those with complex or failed-back-surgery pain. Having practiced for seven years within Welia Health, I truly value collaboration, and I will continue to work closely with local physicians, nurse practitioners, and therapists in the area. I look forward to bringing a warm and thoughtful approach with a modern twist to a region that has already been so great to work with.

At Sage Spine Pain and Nerve Center, we bring the training, experience, and compassion of a specialist—but with the approachability of a neighbor who cares deeply about this community. I know that when you’re facing daily pain, you need more than just treatment—you need a partner who will listen, explain every option, and walk alongside you on the journey. That’s the kind of care you can expect here, and I look forward to helping you take your next step toward healing.

Meet Dr. Clary

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, as the middle of three boys, where I learned early on to love both competition and camaraderie. From playing sports with my brothers to spending time in the outdoors, those years shaped my drive and my values. At just sixteen, I earned my Eagle Scout Award, an achievement that deepened my appreciation for leadership, service, and adventure. Those same values continue to guide me today—whether in the clinic, with my family, or out in the community.

Outside of medicine, my greatest joy is spending time with my wife and our three children—our daughter and two sons. I love coaching their sports teams, going fishing just about anywhere I can, cooking for family and friends, and planning new adventures together. Minnesota became home thanks to my wife’s family, and over time I’ve come to deeply value the tight-knit communities and excellent schools this region has to offer. Recently, I challenged myself physically by running a 10K Spartan Race back in Ohio and a local 5K mud run, and looking ahead, I’m excited for even bigger adventures: attending the Daytona 500, golfing in Alaska at midnight (I even started lessons in 2024 for the occasion), and learning to inline skate just for fun. I believe life is meant to be lived with curiosity, energy, and the willingness to try new things.

I’m also fascinated by innovation and the way new ideas can shape the world—especially in healthcare. After some time exploring opportunities in virtual reality technology, I became convinced of the power of AI and advanced software to transform medical practices. Today, many of these tools are woven into my clinic to make the patient experience smoother, more personal, and more effective. For me, practicing medicine has never been about just procedures—it’s about bringing together expertise, technology, and compassion so people can live fuller lives. And just as in my personal life, I bring the same mix of drive, curiosity, and care to every patient I meet.

Meet Tawney

I’m from a small town in North Central Minnesota. Born and raised in the country. I am very close to my family. I am the youngest of 5 kids. I was very active in sports and theatrics in school. I played football, basketball, track, and participated in musicals. I went to state twice in track for shot put. Sports showed me how important commitment, dedication, and grit are. What I gained from my high school days allowed a smooth transition into my career. I went to college right out of high school and obtained my AAS degree as a surgical technician. I worked in a level one trauma center for 11 years. I loved every minute of it. Toward the end of those 11 years, I started my nursing career. I first obtained my LPN degree and worked as a Charge Nurse in a care facility. Then I obtained my RN-BSN. I worked as an RN for 5 years in the surgical setting before advancing my career to a Nurse Practitioner. I majored in Family Practice with a minor in sociology/psychology. Every career advancement expanded my desire to do more, learn more, and help more. That is how I ended up with Dr. Clary doing what I love.

Outside of caring for others my time is occupied by my family. I have 4 boys ranging from 14-3. My boys are very involved in sports, so when I am not working, you’ll find me at a sporting event, helping on the farm, or with my youngest son at a therapy event. My kids are my world and I want to them to experience everything they can, within reason. My family members are very outdoorsy, and we have the best farmers tan you’ve seen.

My whole life I have always wanted to help and better others’ lives. After my youngest son’s medical diagnosis I made it a staple to be a greater advocate for my family and others. I may be a soft hearted person but I will do everything in my power to ensure my patients get the care and answers they seek. I am always open to expanding my knowledge and looking at things from different perspectives. In life and in my career there is always room for improvement. I am here to listen and ensure you leave with an understanding of our goal for you; not confusion because of big medical words.
